Steven brings nearly 30 years of leadership experience in business integration, business transformation, systems/technology implementation, and business process/controls improvement. Steven has delivered major programs and business transformation initiatives for several clients including global integrated oil companies and independent U.S. refiners/marketers. He has served clients across several industry sectors including Downstream, Midstream, and Power/Utilities.

Steven began his career at Andersen Consulting (Accenture) within their Global Energy Practice. While with Accenture, he led and successfully delivered several large complex programs, working alongside business and IT personnel to help companies with their strategic initiatives. Initiatives focused on deploying technology to improve trading/commercial, risk management, hydrocarbon supply chain, and back-office/finance functions by improving operational efficiency and enabling better business decision making through improved data.

After leaving Accenture in 2013, Steven continued to serve clients throughout the Energy sector. While with KPMG as part of their Risk Management Practice and then with a boutique energy consulting firm where Steven continuously demonstrated his ability to partner with companies to deliver results in business strategy, business process and technology enablement/system implementation.

Steven joined Stancil & Co. in September 2022 and is a co-founder of Pyxis Advisory Group, an affiliate of Stancil & Co.


  • Mergers & Acquisitions - RActivities included due diligence, TSA negotiations, and integrated business/IT transition planning. Led several integration and transition activities, which included creation of a re-usable technical due diligence framework, as well as the implementation of a client’s new IT infrastructure and integrated application suite. This IT infrastructure and integrated application suite allowed the client to execute daily operations of its current assets with the flexibility to easily acquire/covert additional assets over time.
  • Digital Transformation - Led evaluation, selection, design, and implementation of numerous digital technologies. Functionality spanning ERP, commercial/risk management solutions and supply chain management. Delivered technology rationalization programs to optimize corporate IT spending.
  • Commodities Trading and Risk Management - Led evaluation, selection, design, and implementation of numerous C/ETRM platforms across multiple commodities. In addition, designed and delivered new organizational capabilities in the areas of risk management and supply chain optimization; which included organizational design, process/controls, and the integration of enabling technologies. Designed and delivered managed services capabilities for business and IT support.
